Untitled 4a.

The Tension, Damage & repair in these pieces is shown by the needle work in the orange peel. I now have more of these pieces, as for each exhibition I do, the art work grows and they preserve well. They symbolise the life cycle as you can see the age change between the new & older ones. We, like nature, eventually corrugate. I could say 'we are all but rotting fruit in a bowl of life' it seems dour but is life. 180x11cm. Natural material, Acrylic paint, Ink, Cotton thread, latex.

Untitled (b) 2015

When something is cast, it is frozen in time, its reality is paused and it becomes a different form of its negative space. Only when the negative space is cast, does it become a copy, a repeat of its existence. Existence is the positive space and the positive space needs the negative space to exist. This is balance. Negative space cast brings thoughts and awareness to gendered binary oppositions. Nature doesn’t label; it just is. I commemorate the form in a ritualistic process.

These casts bring me thoughts about the way the casts are displayed. When anything is put on show or into direction of a viewer, the object, thing , person immediately become objectified, wether the intention was there or not, it is displayed. A lot of my artwork brings attention to objectification, sexual objectification, representational forms created by nature. Plaster Cast. 2015

This project was a piece I made towards an environmental art project. I made sound to go inside under the black bottom. The box appears empty with just sound. Unfortunately the sound was lost. so I will recreate it eventually. Only hope remains in the box. Silver birch bark. Moss, cardboard. mod rock.

Fragile, Soul, Cocoon.

This was my second ever sculptural piece. It is welded steel. Welding was the first method of sculpting I ever used. This piece was inspired originally from a Shell. Then a drawing, descriptive words, and a painting from 3 of the words. The shape was taken from part of the painting, its essence. The title are the words. This a great way of working towards a final result.
