Great Mother Earth 2015(Rorschach)

Great Mother Earth 2015(Rorschach)

3x4.5 Metres Recycled paper, Crude oil, water, Gold pigment, beetroot, sand. I created this giant Rorschach to symbolise the damaging effect of power & greed to the earth. All the materials used were natural and used as metaphors representative to my concept.I had no idea how it would turn out before I began....

The result was astounding! There before me appeared a giant moth like form with an alien like head with antenna, a rib cage and a spine. Its winged form filled the paper with a huge statement of explosion like impact.

It did also look like an explosion of oil and gold, bringing hidden meanings through its materials like a message to its eyewitness. The crude oil and gold seemed to bring thought provoking messages to all.

Make-up Rorschach 1. Make-up; Lipstick, eyeshadow, foundation, old fake tan and lotions. Beauty isn’t defined by image anymore. A patriarchal societies ideal impression of what beauty is, has influenced women and girls own beliefs about what they should look like like so much that identities are lost through the covering of our faces with makeup and beauty accessories and following makeup trends....

Make-up Rorschach 1. ...The make up Rorschach drawings are a creative response to my own learning of what a patriarchal societies idealist views of beauty and perfection should be. I had a bag of old makeup that I kept for some sort of creative use, it also reminded me of all the money I wasted on make up and products, trying to fit into this ideal image we are supposed to uphold...
